The Klasterec nad Ohri Factory
One of the oldest Czech china works was founded here as long
ago as in 1794. It has undergone a number of changes in the
course of its historical development and it gradually established
its renown on the perfect modeling and exceptional artistic
working of china services. In the 19th century, some of them
represented the best products in the sphere of Bohemian china
in general.
The present production of the Klasterec china works
is following up this rich tradition. The main item on
the production program continues to be household china in
dinner, coffee, tea and other services. We manufacture seven
compact shapes at our works, their names being Natalie, Menuet,
Constance, Angelika, Maria, Alexa and Jana and their designers
Professor Jaroslav Jezek and academic sculptor Jin Lastovicka.
The Natalie and Menuet forms are a successful example of a
combination of historical elements and the requirements imposed
on modern production. With its relief and festoon edge, the
Constance form ranks in the category of skill-demanding shapes.
The Angelika, Maria, Alexa and Jana services have plain shapes
and their features lie in their simple contours and sensitively
chosen proportions. Most of our services are decorated with
the use of screen-printing and painting techniques in various
combinations and executions. Our decorations are regularly
changed in accordance with the need to apply fashion trends
to china products. [continue...]
